Speaking of frying...

Today was fun.

There was a transformer fire at the Red Mountain Power Plant.

The electricity was out in every building in Mesa...except for Carson Pool.

Yes, Carson was the only pool in the city that had power.

As soon as the power went out, people came flocking to the pool to get out of their 1000000000000° houses with no air conditioning.

We closed the pool at 4:30 for a swim meet.

Between 4:00 and 6:00 we got 50 phone calls regarding the power outage/swim meet. Most of them went as follows:

"Is your power on? Are you still open? Is there a swim meet? Okay thanks bye."

Three of them sounded like this:

"When will my power be back on?"
"I have no idea ma'am."
"Is this SRP?"
"No this is a public pool."
"Okay thanks bye."

One went like this:
"Hi can you give me information about the Mesa Public Library?"
Random.

It was a fun day.
