käre familj,
that's dear family in swedish. you say it like "cher famil." anywa, not much to tell this week. we had a great devotional last night with elder and sister zwick of the 70. it was wonderful and exactly what i needed to hear. i was kinda sad on monday because kendall left and it was always really fun to see him from time to time. no worries, we got pictures! also, another one of our roomates left on tuesday for hawaii. i wanted to go with her so bad! yesterday was exciting though because our roomie who was delayed for health reasons found out that she was cleared to go. she left super early this morning. now sister wood and i are lonely girls for a while. actually, we get 3 new roomies today. it was just sad to see our 3.5th set of roommates leave! we also found out something pretty cool about a woman in sweden who's getting baptized the weekend we get there. she lives in uppsala so i'm keeping my fingers crossed to go there;) it's a pretty cool story actually. elder smith has been spending a lot of time chatting online in the referral center (don't worry, he's supposed to be!) and he was talking to this woman, but she couldn't understand him because he speaks norwegian and they can generally understand each other, but they were having a hard time. so he comes into our classroom and says who wants to chat live with a swede? so our zone leader went and talked to this woman. her name is mira and she's getting baptized on the 16th! iallafall (anyway...) not much more news. i'm finally feeling better. i had a stupid cold all last week. sister wood and i auditioned to sing in a fireside. we both sang and played for each other. it was interesting because my voice was...um...stupid, but they said that they'd love to have both of us sing sometime. it's just a matter of working us in. so i'll let you know how that pans out. i also sang in church on sunday because my musical number backed out. that was...ok. i was still kind of phlegmy so it was hard. oh i also found out that one of the sisters coming in the next swedish group is a girl i met on facebook. random. joe, i'm so glad to hear that baseball is going well. sarah, i want to hear about how city of chandler is going/ which pool are you working at? how was your first inservice? did you make some friends there? is your manager nice? also, keep working hard and don't worry about school. i know you don't like it, but keep at it. you won't regret it. plus, you get to be in honor choir next year. john, keep working hard at piano lessons. i miss you all so much! i love you and i can't wait to talk to you in 2 1/2 weeks! i don't know what time i'll call, but i get my travel plans next week so i'll let you know as soon asn i know. dad, thanks for sending me jake's emails. it's so fun to hear how he's doing. i'm grateful for all of your love and support. love you!
